NOTICE OF HEARING ON REQUEST TO NAME CITY FACILITY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Owatonna, MN, will hold a public hearing at the regular City Council meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in the Gainey Room of the Owatonna Public Library, to pass upon the request to name the City Council Chambers and new building addition at City Hall, 540 West Hills Circle.
Anne Peterson and Nancy Vaillancourt, on behalf of the West Hills Commission, requested this project be named after Charles S. Crandall, who was instrumental in bringing the State School Orphanage to Owatonna. Opposition to naming this facility must be submitted via a written statement to the City Administrator/City Clerk prior to the hearing or the written objection must be presented to the presiding officer at the hearing identifying the reason for opposition. The naming will be delayed for at least one month to evaluate opposition per City policy.
