Citizen's Police Academy

Citizen's Police Academy - This program is an educational experience designed to give residents and business owners a unique opportunity to become better acquainted with members of the Owatonna Police Department and its day-to-day operations. The program recognizes value brought to both residents and members of law enforcement agencies.


When is the next program?  Monday evenings 6:00 to 8:00 pm September 26— November 1 at the Law Enforcement Center, 204 E Pearl Street. 

How do I apply to participate? Applications will be accepted through September 19, 2022. Application forms can be downloaded from the Owatonna Police Department website at www.owatonna.gov/208/Cops-in-theCommunity 

Do I have to be physically fit to participate? No. The experience is for all adults. You are not expected to run or fight. The experience is designed to be fun for all participants.

PLEASE NOTE:  The Citizen’s Police Academy is not intended to train individuals as police officers.
