Prior to this concert, join us for a Rose Ensemble presentation that will include historical background on the music and composers to be featured (16th and 17th century music written by nuns and monks in Milan and Bologna). They will also discuss how Artistic Director Jordan Sramek researched and created this concert program (a number of works are from original manuscripts he found in libraries in Italy) and the unusual instruments on the program (hurdy gurdy and a Baroque triple-strung harp), Finally, they will perform excerpts of pieces from the concert.
