Owatonna Fire Department performs numerous public education events throughout the year. The fire department will provide presentations on fire safety and related topics to groups and organizations.
The extinguisher training sessions are an hour in length. The training is conducted by firefighters and includes:

These programs are offered to industry, businesses, and civic groups and clubs.
A truck visit will include seeing a firefighter in full turnout gear and learning about all the tools and equipment on the truck. This is weather permitting.
Any group can make an appointment to visit the fire station. They will be given a tour of the station and apparatus bay. They will see all the fire trucks and where the firefighters work every day.
