THIS WEEK'S IN CUSTODY ARRESTS

  • Roosevelt Malone was formally charged with theft (F) stemming from a February 7th incident.
  • Orlando Galvan was formally charged with threats of violence (F) and domestic assault (M) stemming from a February 9th incident.
  • Dillin Schultz was formally charged with 2nd degree criminal sexual assault (F) stemming from an ongoing investigation from October 11, 2024.

PERMIT TO PURCHASE OR CARRY QUESTIONS?

Thinking about getting a permit to purchase or carry?  If you live within the city limits of Owatonna, you can turn in your permit to purchase paperwork at the Police Department, located at 204 E. Pearl St.  If you live outside of city limits or want a permit to carry, this will need to be done at the records reception area at the Steele County Detention Center, located at 2500 Alexander Dr.

RESERVE OFFICER RECOGNITION

Each year Owatonna PD recognizes its reserve officers for their volunteer service. This year’s event took place on February 2nd and recognized the following members and their accomplishments:

Michael Leyva—ten years of service  

Steven Wrede—six years of service  

Dakota DuChene—one year of service 

Steven Wrede was also recognized for contributing more than 500 volunteer hours over his six years of service.

In January, the Reserve Unit also welcomed four new members: Isaac Baumgartner, Skylar Krenzelok, Jamilet Ronquist Sandoval and Tyler Sheehan.  All four are currently in the training phase of the reserve program.
