2024 Construction Projects 

2024 Street & Utility

McKinley Street SW, Anderson Place SW

Week of October 7th – Wencl started grading and adding topsoil to the yards and boulevards, and final graded the streets, preparing them for asphalt pavement.

Week of October 14th – The bituminous paving sub-contractor will be in on Monday to pave the first 2-inch layer. Then Wencl will be in the rest of the week continuing with grading yards, adding topsoil, and placing the manhole castings located in the street. Later in the week, the landscaping sub-contractor will begin hydroseeding. As of now, the final layer of asphalt is scheduled to be placed the following week.

Vine Street Parking Lot Progress 

This week Wencl Construction finished the underground infiltration system and moved right into installing a majority of the storm sewer pipe and manholes.  Next week we expect to see the rest of the pavement removals and subgrade preparation completed. Curb and pavement in Vine Street will be removed towards the end of next week. Please be cautious around the area and look out for construction equipment/workers, keeping safety in mind.  

As a reminder, the parking lot will remain closed throughout the duration of the project, please refer to the Downtown Public Parking Map (PDF) or scan the QR code for alternate parking options.

Updates relating to timelines, project progression and potential traffic disruptions will posted on owatonna.gov and the Owatonna Public Works Facebook page.

Thank you for your patience as these projects and other miscellaneous tasks are completed. All dates are subject to change due to weather and other factors.
