THIEF ARESTED FOLLOWING SHORT FOOT CHASE

• On October 1st, city officers were dispatched to Kwik Trip on Landmark Drive at 7:22 PM reference a suspicious male attempting to steal a vehicle in the parking lot.  Upon officer arrival, the suspect had left the area but was located not that far down the road.  The suspect fled on foot after initial contact with an officer.  The suspect, later identified as Codie Tesch, gave up about a block later.   Officers on scene reviewed surveillance footage and confirmed Tesch showed up in a stolen vehicle, went into the store and stole some items and then attempted to steal a different car in the parking lot.  The owner of the vehicle retrieved their vehicle as the suspect was moving property from one stolen vehicle into the new one.  Codie Tesch was formally charged with theft of motor vehicle and fleeing a peace officer on foot.
