City of Owatonna Engineering

Construction has begun and various projects can be seen around The City of Owatonna. Please slow down and use caution when approaching a construction zone.
We thank you for your patience as these projects are completed.

2021 Construction Project:
2021 Truman Avenue:

Havana Rd. & Truman Ave. Intersection                                                                                  October 26, 2021

Northland Grading & Excavating closed the intersection of Havana Rd. & Truman Ave. on Thursday (10/23/21) of last week and started on storm sewer construction.   On Friday and Saturday of last week they worked on Water Main construction at this intersection.

On Monday and Tuesday of this week, they worked on installing the remaining Storm Sewer at this intersection.

As a result of the rain forecasted for Wednesday and Thursday of this week, the intersection of Havana Rd. & Truman Ave. will not be opened until end of day Friday of this week.  The Sub-Cut & Subbase Grading need to be completed at this intersection before it can be reopened to traffic.  The Sub-Cut has to be completed prior to the Subbase Grading, and the Sub-Cut cannot be completed if the site conditions are too wet from rainfall.  With the forecasted rain on Wednesday and Thursday, it is unlikely that the Sub-Cut will be able to be completed on either of these days.  So, the Sub-Cut and Subbase Grading has been pushed back to Friday of this week.
